Hestia Art Residency & Exhibitions Bureau is an independent multidisciplinary contemporary art space which gathers established as well as young and emerging artists at the same time sharing knowledge and experience. The space functions as a residency for artists living outside of Belgrade and also as exhibition space. It is located on Topličin Venac 14/9, 4th floor, and the name comes from the word Hestia (gr. /ˈhɛstiə/) the Greek Goddess of hearth, domesticity, architecture and domesticity. HESTIA is located in a private apartment containing a fireplace which presents this space also on a symbolic level. With a programme of exhibitions and other different events, the mission is to create and put forward group and solo exhibitions which focus on topics that are underway in East Europe and South America. The residency is open for projects dedicated to the creation of international art projects which by working directly within the surrounding environment are collaborating with the local art scene. The works realised and produced during the residency have as a goal to establish international cultural collaboration and exchange involving a network of cultural actors from the region.
