Law Scanner is a non- governmental organization, founded with the purpose to protect citizens’ rights in areas of public health and social policy. Prior to establishing Law Scanner no other organization in Serbia was dealing with the health care system from the legal point of view. Our actions are focused on two main approaches, systematic and individual. With the systematic approach Law Scanner enhances the health system in its entirety, through various projects which are designed to provide more transparent and better services to citizens. With the individual approach Law Scanner provides pro bono legal aid for citizens when their rights, as patients, are violated. Activities • Advising citizens on protecting their rights as patients • Assisting citizens in filling complaints and representing them in the judicial system • Organizing seminars, round tables, lectures and various discussions on all topic regarding health care system and social policies • Active participation on adoption of new laws in area of health care and social policies as well as monitoring their implementation • Taking part in various public debates • Holding a lecture in the Clinic of Medical Law on Faculty of Law, Union University • Holding a lecture in the School of Human Rights “Vojin Dimitrijevic”, Belgrade Centre for Human Rights
