Read and write reviews about Student Parliament of the Third Belgrade Grammar School. Student Parliament of the Third Belgrade Grammar School is the best-developed Student body in Serbia, comprised out of 80 members, and three members of the Presidency. The Parliament has a long tradition in supporting the student community and fighting for student rights. The Parliament typically meets once a month, to discuss the position of students in our school and prepare for aforementioned events. We work with the school leadership and secretariat, and use our power to alter the school programme so it meets our needs and developmental desires. Throughout the year we organise projects that involve our students in organisational matters, thus allowing them to gain skills necessary for further professional development. The most famous project we organise is the "Beogradska Gimnazijada", a sports competition, that involves 20 local grammar schools and gathers a great number of participants, organisers, volonteers, and spectators on our school's grounds. The competitions are held in four sports: men's football, men's basketball, women's volleyball and chess. During the four day event, volunteers collect money, which is donated to charity. The Parliament also organisies a Film festival, that has the aim of promoting culture and art. By projecting films of university students, we encourage their further involvement and support the work. The money volunteers and organisers raise from selling tickets and beverages is also donated to charity. Since debating is not a part of the school curriculum, the Parliament organises a Debate tournament, so the students involved in the Debate club can test and practice their skills in a healthy, competitive environment. Finally, we make sure that every orphan has a warm Christmass, by collecting sweets and toys from the local community and distributing them as Santa's gifts to orphanages.
